Getting Started!! Past Present Future

Introduction - The Past

It's been a long time since wrote a blog or article as such. Used to work as a freelance content writer around 3 years back when Covid was at it's peak, schools were closed. Started exploring different domains in the free time, opened a Youtube gaming channel didn't worked out as it was not growing organically, realized that my audience was in Facebook thought to create a facebook page in order to redirect facebook audience towards my youtube channel but destiny had it's own plans, started to post gaming memes there because of which it grew exponentially, the facebook page had already gained thousands of followers and a million plus daily post views in just few months and I had already started earning via sponsorships. Simultaneously got know about the term "Blogging" and how we can earn money through it from youtube, as anyone would, decided to try it out because why not I had lot's of time thanks to lock-down and by that time already got to know that I can actually earn money sitting at the comfort of home without any formal qualification with just a smartphone and internet connection. I still remember the first article I had wrote or rather "copied" from a well established e-sports news source about PUBG getting banned at a fine summer evening. Didn't knew anything about SEO back then, was using Google's blogger and it's default ugly template and thought it will reach to other people just like the news source reached to me magically and would get thousands of viewers just in a day. Fast forward to few months hadn't wrote a single article since then but suddenly thought let's give it a another try(well destiny, I believe) this time actually learned things, had setup professional looking blogging site with again google's blogger. Started writing long and detailed articles myself around tutorials and to dos, I was using blogger free subdomain which was neither good in-terms of brand identity nor SEO friendly but despite of that 2 of my articles out of 15 ranked in first page of Google Search Result Page but unfortunately, I latter sold that blogging site due to academics as schools were opening, things were settling down and also had a major exam because of which couldn't publish any new articles and the site was going down. In my initial days of blogging used to share my articles in facebook groups for feedbacks from experienced folks and that's where I got my first client from and started my freelance journey. Seeing my article a indie blogger himself approached me and offered me to work as a ghost writer for him, It was something new for me as during that time I was unaware about freelancing but he offered decent pay so decided to give it a try and that is how I started. In my tenure as a freelancer worked with several client both domestic and international, in various niches starting from tech to travel and lifestyle and build some great connection but after  a year and half had to leave everything to prepare for competitive entrance exams which I still regret today. So that was the backstory.

The Present

As of today, 3rd of August 2025 I am a student pursuing Bachelors of Technology from a tier 69 private college, currently in 2nd year and have wasted 1st year. I have zero skill related to my domain of study at this moment, below average CGPA, not too good posture and looks, an introverted and shy person with social anxiety. In simpler terms I am below average in all aspects of life. Enough ranting for now, let's think about the future.

The Future

I built and wrote all my other blogs with a single motive, which is to earn money but not this. I am writing these not to be read by a targeted audience but by me, I want to create a archive which I can refer back. I want to built my personal space over internet containing my own experiences, thoughts and learning. But why not maintain a private journal? Well it crossed my mind but maybe discarded because personal blogs such as this carries your personality as a person and speaks for you which as a introvert is challenging in person or via other means of communication. I really don't care if anyone read these because I am creating something speaking of me and for me, and here it ends the getting started, the first blog of blog.sakil.me.
